==Plot==
Devendra Dutt (Sanjeev Kumar) was a famous writer and a misogynist. One night while returning from a meeting, he sees a young woman thrown out of a moving car. His uncle insists to take her home and get medical attention. He hesitatingly agrees and takes her to their home.
Next morning young woman (Jaya Bhaduri) gets her consciousness and starts saying that she was the wife of Devendra. However she couldn't remember anything from her past, not even her name except that she was Mrs. Dutt. Everyone tries to convince her but she strongly states that this is her house. Seeing her fragile state, Devendra and his uncle decide to let her stay at their house for some time till someone comes for her. They call her Anamika as they don't know her name.
They post an advertisement for her in newspaper but no response would come. Meanwhile Devendra slowly grows close to her and secretly wishes that she should stay here forever. He takes her to holiday on suggestion of her doctor. There he sees her photo and on further inquiry comes to know that she was wife of a businessman. Though heart broken by the fact that she was already married, he goes to meet that businessman. He was shocked to know that Anamika wasn't businessman's wife but just his employee/escort. Being already cheated by former girl friend, Devendra thinks that Anamika too cheated him for money and throws her out of his house.
He later meets her in a function where she was introduced to him as Mrs. Kashyap. Confused, Devendra requests her to tell him the truth. She narrates her flashback where she was constantly pursued by her classmate Naresh. She marries and becomes a widow and Naresh, now her brother-in-law continues to harass her. She escapes from the house and joins in a modelling company. There her boss tries to take advantage of her, making her leave that job too. She comes to Rubai (Helen), who settled her in that job. But Rubai sends her to brothel from where she gets arrested and later released based on testimony given by other inmates. But as she has given Rubai's name in court, her men try to kill Anamika. On that night itself she comes across Devendra and decides to stay at his house at any rate. After listening all this, Devendra reconciles with her and fights away Naresh who tried to harass her.
